Hiring an SEO

There’s some problems with hiring an SEO agency or hiring so called ‘experts’. Most self proclaimed ‘experts’ are full of bullshit looking for a quick buck. It’s quite sad really but mostly for the client that falls for it.

So in answer to certain concerns you may have I have decided to answer 15 questions that you should ask any SEO company before you hire them. Questions were written from respected SEO company SEOptimise

1) What kinds of tactics do you use?

I consider the Internet one of the greatest things man has ever made using so called black/grey hat techniques are polluting this amazing thing that we rely on so much. I have a very ethical standpoint with this. My work is focused on value. What value are you bringing your customers? What value can we bring to your fan base? To answer the question, my tactics would revole around people first then SEO.

2) Who are your existing clients?

At the moment I’m working on around 15 clients. Contact me for more details.

3) Can I read some testimonials?

Of course

4) Will you edit my website’s content?

If needed yes.

5) Do you work for any of my competitors?

Nope

6) Do you have long-term strategies for my website?

Of course, I wouldn’t even dream about working without a well through out plan. I fully understand as well that this plan will not be set in stone as new technologies and platform come along, I will adapt to these in the plan if they happen.

7) Can I have your number?

Of course, you can also have my Skype and whatever contact details you want. I will not accept clients that do not communicate with me often.

8) Will you show me regular reports?

Short reports are a must in my opinion. You will have access to software (Asana) that will allow you to see what I’m doing day by day. If there’s good news I’ll tell you. If there’s bad news, I’ll tell you along with what I intend to do about it. I will also provide an in-depth report every month.

9) If you supply new content to my website, will I own it?

What would I do with it? Anything I add to your website is yours, a gift from me. My goal is to grow with clients, I don’t care about copyrighting my work.

10) Do you offer guarantees?

No. Anyone who offers guarantees are lying to you. No one can 100% deliver these. That’s not how SEO works. Google have also issued a warning about this sort of offer - source

No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.

Beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings, allege a “special relationship” with Google, or advertise a “priority submit” to Google. There is no priority submit for Google. In fact, the only way to submit a site to Google directly is through our Add URL page or by submitting a Sitemap and you can do this yourself at no cost whatsoever.

11) Do you have a special relationship with Google?

No.

12) When can I expect results?
This depends on your goals, website and the type of industry you are in. But Chameleon SEO focuses on the important first – revenue. After reviewing your website I will firstly make suggestions to increase your revenue then look at longer term goals through organic SEO, social media etc.
